Fight osteoporosis.

Andrea Andris, 62, was very curious to see if the workout would help fight her osteoporosis. Her cards were on the simulation of high loads on the bones. First back pain every day, then stooped posture, eventually it got a name: Osteoporosis.

Admittedly, I've neither worked out nor done any exercise to target specific muscles but I absolutely loved gardening, planting flowers and growing vegetables. I still do, but not with a strong backache! When not gardening, I make an effort to move for at least 1 hour a day. Always cooked at home and oh, how I used to enjoy sweets, meat, cheese and white flour products! Not anymore.

When my son founded AURUM in 2018, I was shocked. Would he be successful with yet another gym? Of course I was curious to try it and soon lost all concerns and saw the value in the approach for me personally. I have been training regularly every 10 days since. I added more walking, hiking, yoga, biking and skiing to my retiree routine. Shortly after, I noticed I was becoming better at sports, feel fitter, stronger and more self-confident. In consultation with my doctor, I reduced and then stopped taking medication against osteoporosis.

I hardly have any more pain when working in the garden! And osteoporosis has started to reverse: according to the last DXA Scan, bone density increased by an average of 4% in my legs and 3% in my spine! For me a huge problem was the fear of doing something wrong when strength training. This would inadvertendly come at the expense of intensity. Hence the personal coaching is what I most appreciate. It's this reassuring combination of coaching and the isokinetic technology that enables me to walk out feeling satisfied with my strength training each week. Finally, its so relaxing to know that one can live at high muscular and bone function at any age. Now, I can really enjoy my active retiree livestyle.
